We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Inspector to join a growing compliance team, supporting fire safety across residential and/or commercial properties. This role is critical in ensuring fire doors meet current legislation, standards, and best practice, with a strong focus on BM TRADA guidance and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed fire door inspections in line with BM TRADA, BS 8214, and relevant fire safety standards
  • Accurately assess fire doors, frames, ironmongery, seals, glazing, and signage
  • Record inspection findings using digital or paper-based reporting systems
  • Identify non-compliance issues and provide clear remedial recommendations
  • Liaise with clients, site teams, and contractors to explain inspection outcomes
  • Ensure all work complies with current Fire Safety Regulations and industry best practice
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in fire door legislation and BM TRADA guidance

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fire Door Inspector
  • Strong working knowledge of BM TRADA standards and inspection methodology
  • Understanding of BS 8214 and passive fire protection principles
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate inspection reports
  • Full UK driving licence (if role involves site travel)
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail

Desirable

  • BM TRADA Fire Door Inspection certification
  • Experience working within social housing, local authority, healthcare, or commercial buildings
  • Familiarity with digital compliance systems or asset management software
