Role Overview: We’re on the hunt for a talented and enthusiastic Bid Writer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you’ll craft compelling and persuasive bid responses that showcase our strengths and win us new business. Reporting to the Bid Manager, your words will be instrumental in telling our story and demonstrating why Houston & Hawkes is the best choice for our clients.
What You’ll Do:
- Craft Persuasive Proposals: Develop high-quality, tailored EOI, RFI and RFP responses that align with client requirements and highlight our unique offerings.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with various departments to gather insights and information, ensuring our proposals are comprehensive and accurate.
- Manage Tender Processes: Oversee the end-to-end bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting final proposals, ensuring deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyse feedback from previous bids to refine and enhance future submissions, contributing to our overall success rate.
- Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research into new clients, translating their culture, wider company goals and ethos into bid responses.
What You Need:
- Proven experience in bid writing, preferably within the catering or facilities management sectors.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with InDesign is a plus.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Salary Banding: We’re offering a starting salary from £30,000 per annum, with the potential for this to increase depending on your experience and the value you bring to the role.
