We have an option for an experienced or fairly new Technician to join our team at Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Main Grade Technician (0-2 years’ relevant experience)
- Perform routine soil and rock sample preparation and testing
- Work under supervision while developing core technical competencies
- Follow established procedures with precision, safety, and efficiency
- Perform basic calculations and maintain accurate records
- Build confidence in standard laboratory methods and quality processes
- Senior Technician (2-6 years’ experience)
- Lead complex testing operations with minimal supervision
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory apparatus
- Interpret preliminary test data and validate results
- Mentor junior staff and support small team workflows
- Contribute to quality assurance, safety compliance, and continuous improvement
Person Specification
- Previous geotechnical testing laboratory experience or have an interest in a career as a laboratory technician
- Organised and methodical
- Team player
- Strong communication skills
- Good level of literacy and numeracy
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and sample containers weighing up to 20 kg and if required to stand for short or long periods
