We’re currently working with a well-established passive fire protection contractor who are looking to add an experienced Firestopping Supervisor to their team on a permanent basis. They deliver passive fire protection and firestopping works across a range of commercial, government, education, and healthcare projects, and are continuing to grow due to a strong pipeline of secured work. Due to the nature of the work, the ability to work away is essential.

The Role

  • Supervising firestopping operatives across multiple projects
  • Carrying out and overseeing installation of batt & mastic, fire collars, wraps, sealants, ablative coatings, and penetration sealing systems
  • Ensuring all firestopping works are completed in line with manufacturers’ specifications and current fire safety regulations
  • Conducting QA inspections and maintaining accurate site records and compliance documentation
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and compartmentation plans
  • Coordinating works with site management, contractors, and other trades
  • Managing productivity, quality, and health & safety on site
  • Supporting and mentoring operatives to maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Identifying and reporting any non-compliant works or site issues
  • Assisting with site surveys, progress reports, and programme management when required

What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience within passive fire protection/firestopping
  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience
  • Strong knowledge of fire compartmentation and firestopping systems
  • Ability to read drawings and technical specifications
  • Good understanding of QA processes and compliance requirements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a quality-focused approach
  • NVQ in Passive Fire Protection (preferred)
  • FIRAS or equivalent accreditation experience (desirable)
  • CSCS card (essential)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
