An established specialist contractor operating within the façade and building envelope sector is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team based in Liverpool. The business delivers high-quality façade packages across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments throughout the UK. Projects include curtain walling, architectural aluminium systems, steel windows and doors, rainscreen cladding, access solutions, and Steel Framing System (SFS) infill, with project values ranging up to £15 million. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to manage projects from tender through to final account, working closely with operational teams to ensure successful commercial delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial performance of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow, and profitability.
- Prepare measurements, valuations, and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment.
- Assess and manage variations, compensation events, and contractual entitlements.
- Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates.
- Administer subcontractor accounts and recommend payments.
- Support contract reviews, commercial risk management, and project procurement.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, designers, suppliers, and site teams.
- Assist in agreeing and closing project final accounts.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities, valuations, and measurements.
- A good understanding of standard construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
