What you’ll be doing:

  • Function as a competent scrub practitioner within the day case operating theatre environment.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields in accordance with aseptic non-touch technique (ANTT) principles.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team throughout procedures.
  • Ensure the correct handling, counting, and accountability of surgical instruments, swabs, sharps, and consumables.

  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner with current HCPC registration or Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Experience working as a scrub practitioner within an operating theatre environment.
  • Understanding of perioperative care and patient safety principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
