What you’ll be doing

  • Provide clinical leadership across Recovery and enhanced care services, ensuring consistently high standards of patient care.
  • Lead, support, and develop a skilled nursing team through coaching, supervision, competency assessments, and appraisals.
  • Support daily operational management, workforce planning, and effective staffing across the service.
  • Act as a visible clinical role model, supporting colleagues caring for complex post-operative patients.
  • Promote excellence in patient safety, clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and the ongoing improvement of recovery pathways.

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Nurse with significant experience within Recovery/PACU and enhanced care environments.
  • Recognised postgraduate Critical Care qualification.
  • Experience managing complex post-operative patients, including HDU-level care.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an acute clinical setting.
  • Strong ability to lead teams, prioritise effectively, and maintain excellent standards of care.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
