We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Processing Officer to join our Planning Support team. This pivotal role will work closely across our Development Management and Building Control services—ensuring our systems are efficient, effective, and enabling our teams to deliver excellent services to our communities.

About the Role

As our Systems Processing Officer, you will be responsible for providing systems support to the Development Management and Building Control functions. No two days are the same and this role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has strong IT capability, and is passionate about making services work better for staff, stakeholders and the public.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing systems support to the Development Management and Building Control function.
  • Using the Engage software, map processes and identify efficiencies and service enhancements.
  • Support staff in adopting new systems/processes through the detailed production of process procedures and staff training.
  • Uniform software System Supervisor functions (including creation of automated workflow tasks, letter template coding and code list updates etc).
  • Extraction and collation of data from Uniform software.
  • Updating website page content.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an organised, proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to improving service delivery.

You will bring:

  • Experience in process documentation.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence with a variety of software packages, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively.
  • The ability to work independently, use your initiative, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience working in administrative environments and handling diverse enquiries.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and good data management practices.

If you thrive on problem-solving, have good attention to detail and enjoy supporting colleagues, this role is for you.

Ideally, you will also have a NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related field. Knowledge or previous experience within a Planning or Building Control service area or systems support role would be beneficial.
