Part time - 26 hrs per week
We are looking for someone who has the skills and qualities necessary to support vulnerable clients through the process of applying for a Disabled Facilities Grant. You will be working with the Principal Environmental Health Officers and Private Sector Housing Officers in the busy Private Sector Housing Team, to ensure the timely delivery of Disabled Facilities Grant adaptations. This will involve visiting clients in their homes, and assisting them throughout the application process, including submitting appropriate documentation.
You will liaise with officers and other agencies to assist in the timely processing of applications and provide assistance as required. You need to be detailed and accurate in handling data and keeping records.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience of Local Government Housing Practices and Policies with particular regard to Disabled Facilities Grants or similar processes.
- Experience of supporting vulnerable clients.
- The ability to communicate effectively across a range of media and audiences.
- An understanding of the applicable rules and regulations.
- Be familiar with basic spreadsheets and be able to accurately record data.
For a candidate able to demonstrate the right skills and qualities some training will be given.
