About us and the role
Active Lifestyles Dursley is a thriving community leisure centre at the heart of health, wellbeing and physical activity within the district. We are committed to providing high-quality facilities, programmes and services that help people of all ages and abilities to lead active and healthy lives.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and customer-focused Leisure Centre Manager to lead our busy facility and inspire our team to deliver exceptional experiences for our customers and communities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse operation including fitness facilities, swimming provision, group exercise programmes, community engagement initiatives and health and wellbeing services. You will play a key role in ensuring the centre continues to be a welcoming, inclusive and financially sustainable facility that meets the needs of residents, partners and stakeholders.
As Centre Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the safe, effective and efficient delivery of all services. You will be responsible for driving performance, achieving income targets, developing staff, maintaining high standards of customer service and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
Working closely with colleagues, partners, contractors and community organisations, you will help shape the future of leisure provision in Dursley and contribute to wider health and wellbeing objectives across the district.
About you
You will be an experienced manager with a proven track record of leading successful leisure, fitness or hospitality operations. You will be passionate about customer service, team development and community wellbeing, and able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness. You will have experience of managing budgets, performance targets and operational risk, while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams, build positive relationships with stakeholders and drive high performance across all areas of the business. You will be confident in managing a varied workload, making informed decisions and responding effectively to operational challenges. Experience of health and safety compliance, safeguarding, income generation and contract management within a leisure environment would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you will share our commitment to providing accessible, inclusive and high-quality leisure services that make a positive difference to people's lives.

We are committed to ensuring that every applicant can participate fully and fairly in our recruitment process. To support this, we offer workplace adjustments at every stage. Please let us know if you have any additional requirements as we are here to help create a positive, inclusive, and equitable experience for all.
