This role will support the delivery of the Council’s economic development objectives, our community wealth building aims and the objectives of the climate and nature strategy. The role will act as the primary contact with business in the district, promoting a sustainable economy that reduces carbon emissions, promotes health and wellbeing and local resilience. The role focuses on working with and across local business, economic partnerships and with initiatives to create a thriving and sustainable local economy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the Council’s economic development objectives, contributing to the creation of a thriving and sustainable local economy.
  • Provide the main point of contact between local business and the Council to build good relationships and networks and maintain the business section of the SDC and Natural Place websites.
  • Contribute to achieving the Councils Climate and Nature Strategy, Health and Wellbeing Strategy and community wealth building objectives.
  • Be an active partner and seek out opportunities to collaborate with external organisations such as the County Council, neighbouring district authorities, education.
