Stroud District Council are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, experienced and qualified health and safety professional. If you have a NEBOSH diploma or you are a registered Environmental Health Practitioner (EHRB) with experience in health and safety, you could be just the person we need to join our busy Environmental Health Service. Candidates with an NVQ Level 3/5 in Occupational Health and Safety, NEBOSH general certificate and IOSH Managing Safely qualifications will also be considered.
You will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of the Council’s health and safety enforcement activities with local businesses. This will include inspecting businesses, investigating accidents, and dealing with complaints. You will also assist the Council’s Safety Adviser in providing a reliable health and safety advisory service to senior management within the authority, which may include staff training.
The Commercial Services Team also deliver a range of other functions (including public health; food safety enforcement and port health) and the post holder may also be given suitable training to enable them to participate in these activities. You will be working in a magnificent, converted stone mill, in a pleasant rural setting close to the Cotswold escarpment but within minutes of the M5 and easy access to Gloucester and Bristol.
