Job Description: Provide top-level technical decision support for propulsion system selection, overall design and integration, and verification strategies. Develop and refine a capability development plan for the propulsion system discipline in one or more of the following areas, and support the identification of research directions for key propulsion system technologies and test verification: Aircraft–engine integration, engine nacelle integration, and test verification; Integrated engine performance design; Integrated engine control system design; Integrated design of the engine, its systems, and the EBU; Integrated thrust reverser system design. Lead the team in planning and building the design processes, standards and specifications, simulation and modelling capabilities required for propulsion system development. Conduct technical coordination and joint design with domestic and international engine and nacelle suppliers to optimise propulsion system integration and verification solutions. Lead the team in resolving engine- and nacelle-related technical issues arising during joint aircraft–engine design, ground and flight testing, and in-service airline operations, and propose solutions. Represent the department in international technical exchanges and advance external cooperation in propulsion systems.Qualifications and Requirements: A master’s degree or above in aero engines, aeronautical engineering, aerospace propulsion, control science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. At least 15 years of experience in the field of aircraft propulsion systems; mastery of key core technologies in civil aircraft–engine integration or engine development. Must have been deeply involved in the aircraft–engine integration development process at a leading international civil aircraft manufacturer or in engine development at a major engine manufacturer, and have worked for an extended period at a leading domestic or international company in the relevant field, such as a top-tier international aircraft or engine manufacturer. Candidates who have served as chief engineer for an aircraft or engine programme or as technical director are preferred. Expert knowledge of one or more of the following work processes: civil aircraft–engine integration, engine nacelle integration, engine and engine system design, engine control system design, integrated engine performance, and thrust reverser system design. A deep understanding of, and practical experience with, aircraft/engine development processes under industry standards such as ARP4754; familiarity with the development process from requirements definition, conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design through integration verification, flight testing and certification. Excellent cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary coordination and communication skills, with the ability to serve as a technical bridge between our client and suppliers. Ability to provide in-depth technical guidance on aircraft–engine integration, aircraft–engine testing, engine development, and related fields, and to report clearly to management and decision makers. Experience leading large technical teams or complex development projects in a multinational environment. Candidates must be willing to live and work in Shanghai for 1-3 years initial contract.
