- About Strongdor
Strongdor is a rapidly expanding, leading manufacturing company that prides itself on delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
We have established ourselves as a trusted name in the market, known for our innovation, reliability, and commitment to excellence.
At Strongdor, we are experiencing significant growth and are now recruiting a Business Systems Specialist to join our IT Team.
Job Description
We’re looking for a Business Systems Specialist to take ownership of how our business uses systems and tools, ensuring they are effective, well‑managed, and continuously improved.
This is a hands‑on, business‑facing role working across multiple systems.
You will work directly with users across the company to improve processes, optimise systems, and deliver real, measurable improvements.
You’ll also play a key role in helping us adopt modern tools, including AI solutions such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, in a practical, structured way.
- Role and Responsibilities
- Manage and improve a range of business systems used across departments
- Act as the go‑to person for system‑related queries and improvements
- Ensure systems are well‑structured, efficient, and fit for purpose
- Collaborate with teams to understand how they use systems, identifying inefficiencies and delivering practical improvements
- Support users with guidance, training, and best practice
- Streamline workflows across tools like Smartsheet, Share Point, and others
- Reduce duplication and improve consistency across systems
- Support upgrades, integrations, and system changes
- Work with external suppliers where needed
- Provide day‑to‑day support for ERP users (non‑development)
- Assist with IT support and help cover the service desk if required
- Help ensure our data is accurate, consistent, and reliable
- Work with teams to improve how data is captured and used
- Help roll out AI tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Identify where AI can improve productivity and efficiency
Support users with practical guidance on using AI effectively.
What we are looking for
- Experience supporting or managing business systems or applications
- A strong problem‑solving mindset; experience working directly with users/stakeholders
- The ability to deliver improvements, not just suggest them
- Broad IT knowledge (rather than deep specialisation in one tool)
You’ll stand out if you
- Have improved processes through systems or technology
- Have worked across multiple systems in a business environment
- Are comfortable balancing support work with improvement projects
- Have an interest in how AI tools can improve ways of working
This role isn’t for you if
- You prefer purely analytical roles without delivering changes
- You avoid working directly with users
- You prefer focusing on a single system or technology
- You’re looking for a purely IT support role
- Location
Strongdor Head Office, Morecambe (fully on site).
Must hold UK driving licence due to travel between local sites.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm, with the exception of Wednesday which is 7:00am to 4:00pm.
Benefits
- Discretionary bonus scheme paid quarterly
- Health cash plan
- Annual leave purchase scheme – purchase up to 5 extra holiday days per year
- Increased holiday days with length of service
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay with length of service
- A birthday ‘spin the wheel’ with gifts up to £100 in value
- Opportunity for career development
- On‑site NHS health checks
- Cycle to work scheme
- Auto‑enrolment pension scheme (potential for Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVC) via salary sacrifice)
- Access to a company‑funded Employee Assistance Programme
- Real Living Wage Accredited
- Great team culture with frequent staff events and company lunches
- Secure on‑site parking
- Candidate referral scheme
- Branded workwear allocation each year
