UKInbound, the leading inbound tourism industry association, has created a new role as Head of Events. The Association celebrates 50 years of trading in 2027 and boasts over 500 members from a range of businesses in the sector including tour operators, DMOs, DMCs, OTAs, hotels, restaurants, attractions, sightseeing companies, visitor experiences, business services, rail, ferry, river and coach transportation, and theatre ticket agencies.

As Head of Events, you will be leading a high-profile portfolio of events held in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, ensuring they are commercially successful, strategically aligned, and delivered to an exceptionally high standard. You will be part of the senior leadership team and have 3 direct reports, all of whom are experienced, organized, and highly regarded by their colleagues and the membership.

You will be accountable for:

  • Strategic leadership
  • Commercial performance
  • Cross-organizational integration of the events programme, which includes workshops, annual conference, webinars, seminars, and major trade shows like WTM, ITB, FITUR, and others.

The Senior Operations Manager of Events is responsible for all the operations of the events, but you will work closely with her.

Event Manager candidates must have:

  • An events or management qualification
  • Significant experience in a strategic events leadership role
  • Experience operating as a Head of Department
  • Man management and communication skills
  • Experience of budgets, revenue generation, and financial performance
  • A record of delivering large scale high-profile events
  • An understanding of the inbound travel trade
