Mechanical Contracts Manager
Location: Gerrards Cross / Buckinghamshire area
Salary: Up to £100,000 DOE

Strong Group are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join an established M&E contractor.
The role will oversee multiple large residential projects from pre-construction through to completion. Current projects include schemes in Hackney and Oxford, typically ranging from 80 to 425 units.
The position is approximately 50% office based and 50% live sites, with no home working. You will report directly to the Head of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple mechanical projects from start to handover.
- Support Project Managers and Site Managers.
- Monitor programme, procurement, costs and resources.
- Attend site, client and progress meetings.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.
- Identify technical, commercial and programme risks.
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Support labour and resource planning.
Technical & Design
Strong mechanical design and technical coordination experience is essential.
You will primarily review and coordinate designs produced by consultants and design teams, including:
- Mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Design coordination and technical queries.
- Clash and installation issue resolution.
- Technical submissions and equipment selection.
- Value engineering.
- Testing, commissioning and handover support.
Essential Experience
- Mechanical Contracts Manager, Senior Mechanical PM or similar.
- Strong mechanical building services background.
- Experience managing multiple projects.
- Mechanical design and coordination experience.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Strong client-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- SMSTS / CSCS.
- AutoCAD, Revit or BIM exposure.
- NEC / JCT experience.
- Design & Build experience.
