Role Summary

Strong Group are working with an established electrical infrastructure business who are looking to appoint an experienced HV Project Engineer within their Major Projects team.

This is a technically focused project delivery role suited to someone with a strong background in HV/LV systems, power distribution, utilities, ICP, IDNO or wider electrical infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of major electrical projects from design and technical review through to installation, commissioning and completion.

You will work closely with internal engineering teams, customers, contractors and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of HV and LV electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate project requirements between internal teams, customers, contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress and help ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify technical, programme and delivery issues and support practical solutions.
  • Ensure project activities comply with relevant safety, quality and technical standards.
  • Support design development and technical coordination.
  • Liaise with site teams and contractors throughout installation and commissioning.
  • Attend project and technical meetings where required.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and technical records.
  • Support continuous improvement across engineering and project delivery processes.

Essential Experience

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong experience within HV/LV electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience working within power distribution, utilities, ICP, IDNO or similar environments.
  • Good understanding of electrical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical project delivery processes.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Confidence communicating with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

Candidates should ideally hold one of the following:

  • HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline.
  • Equivalent electrical engineering experience and technical qualifications.
