An established M&E building services contractor is looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to join their successful Pre-Contract team based in Warrington. This is a pre-contract-only role focused on the preparation and delivery of high-quality electrical tenders across a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, leisure, industrial, and energy. The position is primarily office-based to support fast-paced tender turnaround, with occasional flexibility available where workload permits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of detailed electrical tender bids and cost plans
  • Full ownership of the tender process from enquiry through submission
  • Attending mid-tender and post-tender meetings
  • Post-tender analysis and control
  • Liaising with existing and prospective clients
  • Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
  • Managing tender documentation via electronic control systems
  • Ensuring tenders are commercially sound and compliant
  • Working closely within an integrated M&E pre-contract team

Project Scope

  • Typical project values ranging from £1m to £30m
  • Strong emphasis on commercial office projects
  • Exposure to BREEAM, NABERS, Part L and Smart Building technologies

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within building services
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services
  • Commercial estimating experience essential
  • Proficient with Trimble Estimation software (critical requirement)
  • Strong supplier and subcontractor knowledge
  • Commercial awareness with attention to detail
  • Proactive, approachable, and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a structured pre-contract environment

Not suitable for: Quantity Surveyors or Project Managers looking to move into estimating
