Strong Group is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a contractor-side design team in Ashton-under-Lyne.
This permanent, office-based role supports a varied pipeline of residential, commercial and industrial construction projects, with full-time and part-time options available.
Auto CAD, Amtech and Relux/DIALux experience are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design LV power distribution, lighting and associated electrical safety systems.
- Produce accurate electrical layout drawings, schematics and technical details using Auto CAD.
- Complete electrical network calculations, cable sizing and technical assessments using Amtech.
- Develop internal and external lighting designs and simulations using Relux or DIALux.
- Ensure all designs comply with BS 7671 and relevant UK Building Regulations.
- Collaborate face-to-face with local engineering, drafting and project management teams.
Requirements
- Proven electrical design experience across residential, commercial and industrial building projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Auto CAD, Amtech and Relux/DIALux.
- Detailed, up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 wiring regulations.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate drawings, calculations and technical design information.
- Able to commute to the Ashton-under-Lyne office for the agreed working hours.
