Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Depot Manager to take full responsibility for the performance of our Machine Control department in Derby. This role involves leading day to day operations, ensuring excellent customer support, efficient service delivery, and strong commercial performance within a specialist technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Machine Control depot team, including technical support staff, engineers, and coordinators.
- Collaborate with the Technical Support Team to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee preparation, configuration, testing, and calibration of machine control equipment prior to dispatch.
- Ensure all customer enquiries and technical issues are handled professionally and efficiently.
- Coordinate installations, support visits, and resource planning for engineers and field staff.
- Drive revenue through effective equipment utilisation, upselling services, and managing customer subscriptions.
- Oversee hire contracts, service activity, and billing accuracy, ensuring all chargeable elements are captured.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, building long-term client relationships.
Requirements
- Proven experience in depot management within the construction hire or similar industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent technical understanding of machine control equipment (desirable).
- Demonstrable ability to drive commercial performance and manage operations efficiently.
