An established MEP contractor is looking to appoint an Electrical Estimator at Assistant through to Senior level to support continued growth across a strong and long-term order book. The role sits within a well-resourced pre-construction team delivering complex MEP projects across multiple sectors (excluding residential and hotels). This is a long-term opportunity within a stable business actively planning work through 2027-2029.
The business delivers major MEP packages across the UK, typically ranging from £5m to £50m, with a regional turnover of approximately £80m per year. The current estimating structure includes 2 Bid Leads / Managers, supported by 4 Electrical and 4 Mechanical Estimators, offering strong technical support and clear progression routes.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed electrical estimates across a wide range of MEP projects
- Carry out take-offs, pricing, value engineering and cost planning
- Work with Trimble and other estimating software to produce accurate bids
- Liaise with supply chain, subcontractors and internal commercial teams
- Support bid strategy, risk analysis and tender submissions
- Assist Bid Leads and senior team members on larger, complex tenders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
- Background in electrical estimating within MEP or building services
- Experience across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, healthcare, education or similar sectors
- Comfortable working on projects ranging from £5m – £50m MEP value
- Exposure to Trimble or similar estimating software preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively within a structured estimating team
- Salary £20,000 – £70,000 depending on level and experience
- Car or car allowance
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Additional holiday day every 3 years (up to 5 extra days)
