Salary: £40,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience)

Job Description:

Our client, a well-established construction company specializing in both new build and refurbishment projects within the commercial and residential sectors, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.

As a Construction Quantity Surveyor , you will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, and assisting with the procurement of services and materials. You will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals, providing support on both new build and refurbishment projects across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the cost management for commercial and residential projects.
  • Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders and contracts.
  • Perform regular cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify any cost variations.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers on pricing and contractual terms.
  • Ensure that all financial aspects of projects are in line with project plans.
  • Provide support to senior members of the team, managing project finances from inception to completion.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, tendering, and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of both new build and refurbishment projects (Commercial and Residential).
  • Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
