Location: Hayes, Heathrow

Salary: £33,000 to £35,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00

Essential Requirements

  • Live within 60 minutes of Hayes, Heathrow
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Air Freight Operations, Air Import or Air Export role within the UK freight forwarding industry
  • Have experience managing air freight shipments from booking through to delivery
  • Have excellent customer service and client communication skills
  • Are eligible to work full-time in the UK

About the Role

Our client is a well-established freight forwarding and logistics business based near Heathrow Airport. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Air Freight Operations Coordinator to join their busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional looking to join a supportive and growing business with long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage air freight import and export shipments from start to finish
  • Process shipping documentation including AWBs, invoices, packing lists and certificates
  • Liaise with airlines, handling agents, hauliers, overseas agents and customers to ensure the smooth movement of freight
  • Provide regular shipment updates and respond promptly to customer enquiries
  • Prepare quotations for internal and external customers
  • Approve supplier costs and raise customer invoices
  • Coordinate occasional road freight movements
  • Monitor shipments and resolve operational issues efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records using freight forwarding systems
  • Deliver a high level of customer service at all times

About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within air freight operations
  • Experience working within a UK freight forwarding environment
  • Air import and export experience
  • Experience using CDS and/or ASM Sequoia would be advantageous
  • Excellent customer service and relationship‑building skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Positive, proactive and professional approach
