Location: Greenwich, London
Salary: £100,000 – £140,000 depending on experience
Package: Bonus + Company Vehicle / Car Allowance

An established and rapidly growing scaffolding and construction contractor is looking to appoint a senior commercial professional to join its management team.

With turnover now exceeding £20 million and further growth planned, this is a key appointment with genuine scope to progress into a Commercial Director position.

The successful candidate could join at Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager level, depending on experience.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the commercial performance of multiple projects while working closely with senior management and operational teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Commercial management of major projects and packages

• Applications, valuations and variations

• Cost reporting, forecasting and cash-flow management

• Contractual correspondence and contract reviews

• Managing commercial risk and identifying opportunities

• Procurement and subcontractor management

• Client negotiations and commercial meetings

• Final account negotiation

• Supporting and developing the commercial team

• Improving commercial processes as the business grows

• Providing commercial input into future projects and business strategy

About You

• Infrastructure contractors

You may currently be working as a:

• Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Managing Quantity Surveyor

• Commercial Manager

• Senior Commercial Manager

Candidates from a main contracting background are actively encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience commercially managing significant construction, infrastructure or civils packages.

You should be commercially strong, confident negotiating at senior level and capable of taking a broader view of the commercial performance of the business.

Career Progression

This is more than a project-based QS position.

The company is looking for someone who can become a key part of the senior management team, take increasing responsibility for the commercial function and potentially progress into the role of Commercial Director.

The position is predominantly office based in Greenwich, with travel to sites and client meetings when required.
