Quantity Surveyor
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: £60,000-£70,000
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An established and growing property development and refurbishment company based in Maidstone is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its team.
The business delivers a variety of property development and refurbishment projects, currently valued up to around £1 million, with plans to take on larger projects as the company continues to grow.
The Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Directors, project teams, subcontractors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets, costs and commercial performance.
- Prepare cost plans, valuations and applications for payment.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering and appointments.
- Assess subcontractor applications and payments.
- Identify, price and manage variations.
- Produce cost reports and commercial forecasts.
- Work closely with Project Managers and site teams.
- Manage final accounts and project close-out.
- Help improve commercial processes as the business grows.
Requirements
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction, property development or refurbishment.
- Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Good knowledge of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Good contractual knowledge, ideally including JCT contracts.
- Able to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction would be advantageous.
