Estimator – Bespoke Joinery
Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established specialist joinery contractor based in Basildon.
The business delivers high-quality bespoke joinery and specialist interior packages across commercial projects and is looking to strengthen its pre-construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications and tender enquiries.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery packages.
- Complete material and labour take-offs.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Price manufacturing, installation and associated project costs.
- Liaise with clients, designers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Identify commercial risks, exclusions and value engineering opportunities.
- Support project handover once tenders are secured.
Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within bespoke joinery, architectural joinery, interiors or fit-out.
- Strong understanding of joinery materials and manufacturing processes.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong Excel and general IT skills.
- Confident managing multiple tenders and deadlines.
