About STRONG Pilates

STRONG Pilates is one of the world's fastest-growing boutique fitness brands, operating over 100 studios across 14 countries. Combining Reformer Pilates with strength and cardio training, our signature 45-minute workouts use exclusive Rowformer and Bikeformer technology to deliver an innovative, full-body fitness experience unlike anything else. STRONG Pilates Maidenhead will be the first studio of its kind in Berkshire, creating a premium fitness destination built around exceptional coaching, outstanding customer service and a welcoming community.

Our ambition is simple: To become Berkshire's most trusted and sought-after reformer Pilates studio, renowned for exceptional coaching, premium facilities, an outstanding member experience and a welcoming community that sets the standard for boutique fitness.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our founding instructor team before the studio opens. You'll play an important role in helping launch Berkshire's newest premium boutique fitness studio, delivering world-class classes while creating an incredible experience for every member. Whether you're already teaching Reformer Pilates or you're an experienced group exercise instructor looking to learn something new, we'll provide everything you need to become a certified STRONG Instructor. You'll complete the fully funded STRONG Academy Instructor Certification, learning the unique STRONG coaching method and becoming qualified to teach our signature classes.

The Role

As a STRONG Instructor, you'll be at the heart of every member's experience. You'll deliver energetic, motivating and technically excellent classes while creating an environment where every member feels welcomed, supported and challenged. Every class should leave members feeling stronger, more confident and excited to return.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional STRONG Pilates classes in line with global coaching standards.
  • Motivate, coach and inspire members throughout every session.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive and supportive studio environment.
  • Build genuine relationships with members and help grow our community.
  • Ensure every class delivers an outstanding member experience.
  • Maintain exceptional presentation, cleanliness and safety standards throughout the studio.
  • Work alongside the Studio Manager and wider team to support member engagement and retention.
  • Represent the STRONG Pilates brand professionally at all times.

About You

We're looking for energetic, positive people who genuinely love helping others achieve their goals. You'll ideally have:

  • A passion for health, fitness and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Confidence leading groups and motivating people.
  • A positive, enthusiastic personality.
  • The ability to create an enjoyable, welcoming atmosphere.
  • High personal standards and attention to detail.
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to learn.

Essential Requirements

  • Successfully complete the STRONG Academy Instructor Certification and performance assessment.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
  • Minimum six months' experience delivering group fitness classes.
  • Availability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Experience teaching Pilates, HIIT, strength training, functional fitness, indoor cycling or similar group fitness classes would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Above all, we're looking for instructors with energy, personality and a genuine passion for coaching people.

Fully Funded STRONG Academy Certification

No previous STRONG Pilates experience? No problem. Successful applicants will complete the fully funded STRONG Academy Instructor Certification, providing everything needed to confidently coach our signature classes to STRONG's global standards. The STRONG Academy is an intensive and rewarding programme designed to equip you with the knowledge, coaching skills and confidence to deliver the unique STRONG Pilates experience.

During the Academy, you'll learn:

  • The STRONG Pilates Method and coaching philosophy.
  • STRONG cueing techniques and class delivery.
  • How to coach Rowing, Riding, Reformer Pilates and Strength & Conditioning.
  • Class structure, programming and member engagement.
  • How to use STRONG's studio technology, including microphones, lighting, TVs and clickers.
  • STRONG brand standards and creating an exceptional member experience.

As part of the Academy, you'll also participate in community classes and practical assessments to develop your coaching skills and demonstrate competency before becoming a certified STRONG Instructor.

Training Schedule

All successful candidates will complete the STRONG Academy, which combines online learning with practical coaching experience and a final assessment. The programme consists of approximately 8 hours of online learning, followed by two intensive practical training weekends, studio practice, and a final assessment.

Expected training programme:

  • Online Learning – Approximately 8 hours of self-paced training, provided two weeks prior to your first in-person training weekend.
  • Weekend 1 – Three days of in-person workshops with a STRONG Master Trainer (Friday–Sunday, approximately 6 hours per day).
  • Studio Practice – Independent practice sessions in the studio to develop your coaching skills.
  • Weekend 2 – A further three days of in-person workshops with a STRONG Master Trainer (Friday–Sunday, approximately 6 hours per day).
  • Practice Classes – Delivering classes to friends and family to build confidence and prepare for assessment.
  • Final Assessment (Weekend 3) – A one-hour practical assessment, taking place on either Saturday or Sunday, to become a certified STRONG Coach.

This structured programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge, confidence and coaching skills needed to deliver an exceptional STRONG Pilates experience from day one. Training dates will be confirmed closer to the studio opening and will be scheduled in line with our build programme. We currently anticipate the Academy taking place during November, although this remains subject to the final construction and opening timeline. Attendance at all scheduled Academy training sessions is mandatory and is required to successfully complete the STRONG Academy and become a certified STRONG Pilates Instructor. As the Academy is delivered on fixed dates set by STRONG Pilates, all successful applicants must be fully available to attend the complete training programme. Flexibility to attend the Academy as scheduled is therefore an essential requirement of the role and will form part of our recruitment and selection process. Training dates cannot be rearranged or attended on alternative dates, so applicants should ensure they are able to commit to the full Academy before applying.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our founding instructor team, train alongside your colleagues before launch, and help establish the coaching culture that will define STRONG Pilates Maidenhead from day one.
