About the Role

At Strode Park House, you’ll help ensure our disabled residents receive person-centred care that supports their wellbeing, dignity, independence and choice. We are excited to be recruiting Lead Care and Support staff for Strode Park House in Herne. In this role, you will:

  • Provide enthusiastic day-to-day leadership and supervision for the care team
  • Support with the administration of medication to residents and assist the nursing team with medication management
  • Maintain clear, accurate and comprehensive records
  • Play a vital role in delivering high-quality care that can profoundly improve residents’ quality of life
  • Offer practical help and emotional support to people who are unable to live independently
  • Guide, support and help train new Care and Support Workers as they develop in their roles
  • Help coordinate the team’s work so colleagues can meet their objectives and deliver consistent, compassionate care

As a Strode Park Foundation colleague, you will receive comprehensive support from day one, along with training and development opportunities to help you build your confidence, strengthen your skills and progress in your career. Strode Park House is a residential home in Herne, Kent, registered for 55 adults with physical disabilities and complex needs. We provide a relaxed, homely environment for 40 permanent residents and up to 15 guests who stay with us for neuro-rehabilitation and respite care. Strode Park Foundation has been delivering care since 1946, and Strode Park House is where our story began. Our team is proud to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment where every person is treated with respect and supported to live as independently as possible. Individual wellbeing, dignity and choice are at the heart of everything we do.

Shift times at Strode Park House are:

Strode Park House provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays. Because of this, we value colleagues who are reliable and flexible. We will consider all requests for flexible working and are proud to be a ‘Flex from First’ employer — please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards this within 12 months of starting the role
  • Direct or indirect experience of disability or supporting people with disabilities
  • Basic computer skills
  • The flexibility to meet the working pattern required for this role
  • Experience of managing and administering medication, or a willingness to learn this skill

It would also be an advantage if you have:

  • Experience of working in a supervisory role
  • Previous experience of working in care
