At striveX, we deliver trusted accounting and tax solutions to ambitious, values-led business owners. We’re hiring an Assistant Manager for our Year End function. This role is ideal for someone who has had experience managing a small team or a senior individual that has experience reviewing juniors' work. You will report directly to the Senior Manager and be a key part of the growth of the team.

Services provided by the team:

  • Company Accounts – FRS 105 and 102(1A)
  • Company CT600
  • Partnership Accounts
  • Sole-trader accounts
  • Self-Assessments
  • Confirmation statements

The opportunity:

You will manage a team of 2-5 junior accountants. Your salary will depend on the number of team members you are capable of managing, giving you the opportunity to become a senior manager once you are confident managing a team of 5.

You will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing year-end accounts and returns, business and personal
  • Assisting the Senior Manager with team performance, quality and capacity
  • Onboarding of new clients into the year-end function
  • Ensuring tasks are met to our internal deadlines
  • Ensuring monthly financial targets are met
  • Improving systems and workflow optimisation
  • Acting as escalation point for complex technical and client matters
  • Being a role model for the junior members of the team

This is a leadership role with accountability — not just technical sign-off.

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years’ practice experience
  • Proven experience managing and developing junior staff
  • Strong review experience across year-end accounts and corporation tax
  • Ability to manage workflow, prioritisation and team capacity

You will not be suitable if:

  • You have not previously reviewed junior work
  • You prefer purely technical work without leadership responsibility
  • You are not confident liaising with clients

We are looking for someone who can operate with autonomy.

Our client base:

  • Founder-led, growth-focused businesses
  • No audit, charity or agriculture
  • Values-aligned clients

Working pattern:

  • Hybrid: 1 day per week in office
  • Manchester (M3 2BY) or Stokenchurch (HP14 3FE)
  • Flexitime
  • Must live within 60-minute commute
  • Valid UK driving licence

The role is ideal for a training manager as the team will grow over time, giving you the ability to develop your management skills whilst the team grows.

Why this role is different:

  • High engagement culture (93% participation rate in team surveys)
  • Competent juniors that manage majority of client communications
  • Monthly leadership training
  • Continuous growth creating new opportunities
  • We invest in our team because we expect high standards in return.
