Kent – Paddock Wood, Kent. Sunday – Thursday shift from 17:30 to 06:00, approximately 45 hours per week.
Our client is a leading FMCG distributor. The role reports to the General Manager and involves supervising 4 Warehouse Shift Managers while overseeing a team of roughly 70 full-time employees to manage operations and improve efficiency.
Key Accountabilities as Warehouse Manager:
- Achieve daily, weekly and monthly KPIs for all warehouse functions through effective guidance and coaching of direct reports.
- Lead a team and create an engaging, collaborative culture by encouraging direct reports to drive performance and standards, using a balanced approach of recognition and performance management against agreed KPIs.
- Control all department resources and costs within agreed finance targets, flexing based on volume and customer requirements without compromising safety, people, service and cost objectives.
- Communicate with people at all levels, including across shifts and departments, delivering consistent briefings to the operational team to ensure adherence to company messages, policies and procedures.
- Ensure full warehouse operational compliance through regular monitoring of QHSE and sustainability standards, focusing on team well-being; this includes PPE, ops checks, racking, MHE, contractors, hygiene, temperature checks, pest control, waste segregation and reduction, accidents and near misses.
- Monitor investigation activity to understand root cause and ensure corrective and preventive action is implemented, with solutions identified or escalated where necessary.
