Strive are a UK wide Supply Chain & Logistics management recruiter. CLASS 1 HGV TRAMPER DRIVER – URGENT! Location: Fulwood, PR2 £15.15 per hour, paid weekly + Overnight pay - £26.00. Allocated your own modern / new unit, to full specification for your comfort and requirements. Monday – Friday shift pattern + all nights are guaranteed.
Client Summary: We are delighted to assist this long-established, family-owned, multi-sector transport company in their search for an additional Class 1 HGV Tramper driver. From 2 depots they offer a range of services including UK wide transport / haulage services, DVSA test facilities & Repair & Maintenance services. Distribution services include General Haulage across the UK, High-Cube Curtain-Sider Trailer Transport, 24/7 Operational Coverage, Planning teams supporting out-of-hours operations, Contract Transport & Dedicated Coverage & Full Load Distribution.
Summary: The purpose of the role is to safely transport customer goods from collection to delivery sites, spending nights out in a dedicated HGV vehicle through the course of your shift pattern. Ensuring compliance and health and safety is conducted at all times. Requiring a professional and safety conscious attitude. Ensure safe and efficient loading of your vehicle, carry out all necessary safety checks using an app and ensure customer paperwork is completed accurately and returned to the office.
Experience & knowledge needed:
- Curtain sided trailer experience
- In-date CPC
- 2 years+ (preferred) of HGV driving experience
- Full UK C+E (Class 1) licence
- Good understanding of UK Road Network and Health & Safety procedures
- Understand and comply to tachograph and driving hour regulations
- Knowledge of drivers hours, tachograph and WTD legislation
- Understanding of load security
- UK road law knowledge / highway code
- Clean licence preferred, no serious endorsements
- Prioritise and plan workloads in line with company KPI's
- Operate vehicles ensuring optimisation of revenue
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment
Working conditions: Driving based role, allocated own unit, vehicle must be kept clean and tidy.
Physical requirements: Opening of curtains on trailer, ability to climb on and off a trailer (no manual handling).
