Our client is a leading 3PL, and we are delighted to support them in recruiting an experienced Transport Team Manager to lead a high-volume, multi-drop operation at their site in Slough, Berkshire. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll work as part of a team responsible for managing the operations, compliance and most importantly the people! You'll really get the value in recognising good work in the team and making sure they are motivated will be your priority! You'll lead the team putting safety at the forefront and working towards shared goals of delivering the best service.
Key Operational Accountabilities for the role of Transport Team Manager:
- Coaching the team to reach their full potential
- Communicating openly and consistently, delivering key messages to the team at the right time
- Managing recruitment, absence, performance conduct safety and service
- Responsible for managing commercial vehicles, cages and pallets PPE, vehicle checks CV servicing MOTs, VORs, temperature checks, near misses to name a few!
- Allocating work considering individual/team capability and legal driving hours to achieve targets
- Carrying out good quality investigations and promoting and managing all safety
The Ideal Candidate for the role of Transport Team Manager:
- Excellent people management skills within a multi-drop transport operation
- Proven ability to drive and motivate a team to work together and achieve KPIs and operational goals
- Excellent communication skills
- Superb Transport knowledge, especially with regards to UK Legislation
