Our client is a leading UK-based Food Group, servicing the Foodservice, Retail and Wholesale sectors. We are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced production and manufacturing professional as they look to recruit a Production Line Leader at their site in Poole, Dorset on a Monday to Friday basis.

The Production Line Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production line. This role ensures products are prepared, packed, labelled, and dispatched efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, quality, and team performance.

The Production Line Leader supervises production staff, monitors work flow, and ensures targets are achieved in line with company procedures and health and safety regulations.

Key Accountabilities as Production Line Leader:
  • Lead and supervise production line staff during daily operations.
  • Ensure meat products are processed, packed, labelled, and stored correctly.
  • Monitor production output to meet daily targets and customer orders.
  • Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards in compliance with HACCP and company policies.
  • Carry out quality checks on products, packaging, weights, and labelling.
  • Ensure all staff wear correct PPE and follow safe working procedures.
  • Train new employees on production processes, hygiene, and safety requirements.
  • Allocate tasks and manage staff performance on the line.
  • Report equipment faults, shortages, or production issues to management promptly.
  • Complete production records, temperature checks, and operational paperwork accurately.
  • Minimise waste and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, and management teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with stock rotation and inventory control following FIFO procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the production area and equipment at all times.

The Ideal Person for the Production Line Leader role:

  • Previous experience in food production, meat processing, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team is desirable.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of HACCP.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
