Our client is a leading lab-based testing partner to companies operating in the world's most highly-regulated industries. They are one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world. They are seeking a qualified and motivated NDT Technician / Radiographer to join their inspection team supporting the aerospace and casting industries at their laboratory in Birmingham.
Candidates must hold a current Radiographic Testing (RT) Level 1 or Level 2 certification in accordance with NAS410 / EN4179 or have equivalent practical experience. You will work within a UKAS and NADCAP-accredited environment, performing high-integrity inspections on critical components to the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities as NDT Technician / Radiographer:
- Perform Radiographic Testing (RT) in line with NAS410 / EN4179 and customer specifications.
- Set up, expose, and process film and/or digital (DR/CR) radiographs.
- Level 2 personnel: interpret radiographs and evaluate results against acceptance criteria; prepare and verify technique sheets.
- Level 1 personnel: carry out exposures and assist in image evaluation under Level 2/3 supervision.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, traceability documentation, and equipment calibration.
- Ensure compliance with IRR17 and company radiation protection procedures.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
The Ideal Person for the NDT Technician / Radiographer role:
- Certified Radiographic Testing (RT) Level 1 or Level 2 to NAS410 / EN4179 (film and/or digital).
- Understanding of NDT principles, radiographic techniques, and radiation safety.
- Strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and ability to follow technical procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
