Strive are a UK wide Supply Chain & Logistics management recruiter. Warehouse / Production Supervisor East Hampshire £35k + Benefits + Prospects. Strive Supply chain are working with an international supplier of non-food FMCG items to the retail sector, who require an experienced Warehouse OR Production professional as they look to recruit a Supervisor at their site near Guildford. This role will operate across two core shifts on a fortnightly rotational basis: 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm Monday to Thursday; 6am-2pm and 11am-7pm on a Friday.
Summary: A highly automated, ever-evolving Warehouse operation. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing a small team & supporting the Shift Manager with the day-to-day operations. The main purpose of this role is to ensure a smooth running of the warehouse utilising all available resources whilst adhering to all H&S requirements.
Role Summary:
- It is the responsibility of the Supervisor to ensure their team is structured, resourced, trained and motivated to achieve the throughput and productivity required, to deliver the daily shift plan and the broader company goals.
- Distributing the workload to ensure all tasks are completed within set timeframes.
- Handling various personnel related tasks for your team such as management of timekeeping, return to work interviews, incident reporting, investigations and disciplinaries.
- Identifying and resolving any issues that arise within your team while understanding which issues should be escalated to your line manager.
- Liaising with the Shift Manager on a regular basis to ensure communication for all tasks, processes and company updates are handled efficiently.
- A good understanding of H&S requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- To deputise for the Shift Manager during holidays and sickness periods as required.
- To be visible on the shop floor for 80/90% of the shift leading the team.
- To lead by setting an exemplary standard to others.
- Identifying training requirements for all staff.
- Committed to own continuous personal and professional development.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a fast paced warehouse OR production led environment.
- The ability to cope under pressure with high volume/fast moving daily processes and deadlines.
- Good computer literacy.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
- Previous experience of leading a team including carrying out 1-2-1s, performance reviews, absence management meetings and disciplinaries.
- Proven knowledge of Health and Safety.
