is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join its
Basildon, Essex
operation.
This is a
hands-on, customer-facing
role
with real variety.
Travelling from the Basildon base to customer sites
across the UK
, you will install, service, maintain, diagnose and repair laser systems, helping customers keep their equipment operating safely and effectively.
There are two routes into this opportunity.
Experienced Field Service Engineers can bring established fault-finding, maintenance and customer-support skills to a specialist product range.
Applicants without field service experience will receive structured in-house training, supervised practical development and any required external qualifications, including BOHS P601 where appropriate.
Responsibility will increase as your knowledge and confidence grow.
What you will do Install, service, maintain and repair laser engraving equipment at customer sites Use a logical approach to diagnose mechanical, electrical and technical faults Explain work clearly to customers and represent the business professionally Complete service records and follow relevant health and safety procedures Plan travel and workload effectively while working independently in the field Work with colleagues to resolve more complex issues and share technical knowledge What you will bring Clear communication and a genuine commitment to good customer service Practical ability, attention to detail and curiosity about how equipment works A calm, methodical approach to problem-solving and fault-finding Self-motivation, reliability and confidence working independently The determination to learn, accept feedback and build new technical skills Willingness to travel from Basildon to customer sites throughout the UK Previous field service, maintenance, installation, mechanical, electrical or technical-support experience is advantageous, but not essential Applications are welcome from experienced service engineers and from career changers with hands-on ability.
Relevant backgrounds could include (but not limited to) maintenance, manufacturing, automotive, plant, workshop, installation, utilities, technical support or the Armed Forces.
Laser-industry experience is not required.
If you can demonstrate reliability, practical aptitude and a genuine desire to develop, the business will provide the product knowledge and support needed to succeed.
