Strive are a UK wide Supply Chain & Logistics management recruiter. Our client is a leading FMCG Distribution business, who are currently recruiting for a Driver Trainer at their head office in Lancaster, to provide training for their drivers through driver assessments, one-to-one coaching and classroom training.
You will be working 2-3 days per week, which will be discussed at interview stage.
Key Responsibilities as Driver Trainer:- To undertake assessment of new drivers during recruitment process to identify training needs.
- Using a respectful and kind approach to provide training and mentoring for new drivers and current drivers who require additional support with their driving performance.
- To carry out inductions to all new drivers, completing all relevant training documents.
- To carry out unannounced gate checks with drivers and vehicles.
- To plan and deliver driver training program in line with driver CPC requirements and company program in both classroom and field-based environments.
- In addition to providing driver training, it would be your responsibility to record all training, ensuring consistency and up to date records are kept and given to Operation Teams.
- Youll have previous experience as an HGV Driver Trainer, with Assessment Related qualifications i.e. QTS, CET, DET, AET, or membership of a recognised trainer register (RADAT, RHA, NRI), or any other recognised driver training qualification.
- Youll be CPC Qualified and hold a full UK HGV C+E Driving License.
- Youll work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong IT and communication skills.
- Youll keep up to date with developments in training i.e., reading relevant journals, going to meetings, and attending relevant courses.
- Confident in face to face and remote delivery.
- Good working knowledge of current legislation.
- Good interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
