Our client is a leading FMCG Distributor who are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at their fully automated operation in Corby, Northamptonshire, on a 4on, 4off basis (Days and Nights rotating in blocks of 4).

Please note: This role involves performing both planned and reactive maintenance at heights of up to 120ft, in temperatures as low as -23C, ensuring the warehouse operates at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate a range of critical systems, including conveyors, cranes, cooling systems, and oxygen reduction systems, in accordance with supplier guidelines.
  • Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Performance & Efficiency: Work towards achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow structured maintenance plans to ensure minimal operational impact while maintaining compliance with supplier guidelines.
  • Supplier & Warranty Management: Arrange service visits and maintenance as per business needs, ensuring all warranties remain valid.
  • Operational Support: Assist warehouse operators in maintaining a smooth and efficient logistics workflow.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor, manage, and order spare parts as needed while adhering to company policy and budgetary constraints.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide clear and timely reports to the Engineering Manager, ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Energy Optimisation: Continuously seek and implement energy-saving initiatives to improve sustainability and cost-efficiency.

The Ideal Person for the Electrical Engineer role:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Multi-Skilled Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Apprentice-trained background in engineering.
  • Experience in an FMCG automated warehouse environment.
  • Experience working at heights.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
