Strive are a UK wide Supply Chain & Logistics management recruiter. We are delighted to be sourcing a buyer for a well established, International, non food FMCG client. Their further growth has facilitated the need for an additional buyer to join their dynamic team. This will be based at a new, state of the art HQ.

Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Summary:
- Buying stock from established and new suppliers.
- Managing Supplier relations, c100+
- Managing internal relations and information flow on product and order status from various sources to various points in the business.
- Finding new products and suppliers and then onboarding them to work with the business including but not limited to contract/terms negotiations, product specification and anything else as applicable.
- Liaising with logistics and warehouse staff to ensure that purchasing activity is coordinated.
- Purchasing new product based on either forecasted demand, historical data, or specific sales requirements.
- Purchasing existing restocks based on sales trends, forecasted demand & historical data along with specific sales requirements.
- Being aware of all regulatory health, safety and export standards and making sure that suppliers are aware and complying working closely with either the internal or group QA.
- Reviewing overstock and bad stock to then move out of the business through the process in place including working with suppliers for help.
- Negotiate agreements and contracts with suppliers using commercial judgement, knowledge of industry pricing models and using forecasts on ordering volumes and supply chain information.
- Attend Trade Shows and make supplier visits both domestically & internationally to investigate new products, meet new suppliers and manage existing supplier relationships.
- Ensure that all product information is shared with colleagues in Sales & Marketing, including; information about new products, availability of products, dates for product releases and promotions plus any other competitor information that may be gleaned in the conduct of your role.
