uk for additional roles across engineering, production, warehouse & transport operations.Health & Safety Manager (Part-Time 3 Days Per Week)c£26k - £28k + Benefits (Pro-Rata Equivalent)LiverpoolOur client is the UKs largest independent industrial and beverage gases supplier, and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Health & Safety professional as they look to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to support their Liverpool operation and wider multi-site network on a part-time basis (3 days per week).Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this role offers a high level of autonomy and independence, sitting outside of the operational line management structure whilst working closely with senior stakeholders across the business. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence on-site alongside ownership of the H&S function.This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced H&S professional seeking a high-impact role with flexibility , while still maintaining ownership, visibility, and influence across multiple operational sites.Key Accountabilities as Health & Safety Manager:Own and develop the H&S management system, framework and policiesReview, write and sign off risk assessments and method statementsConduct regular safety walk-arounds, identifying and acting on hazardsLead investigations into incidents, accidents and RIDDOR-reportable eventsManage near-miss reporting, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed outDeliver H&S improvement initiatives across the businessConduct independent audits and inspections across multiple sitesOversee statutory compliance including PSSR, LOLER, PUWER and DSEARAct as the main point of contact for HSE and external bodiesSet and drive H&S training, toolkit talks and competency frameworksProvide H&S guidance across operational and external/customer sitesExercise authority to challenge operations and issue stop-work directives where requiredThe Ideal Person for the Health & Safety Manager role:NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum), Diploma desirableProven H&S experience within industrial, manufacturing, or high-hazard environmentsStrong knowledge of PSSR, DSEAR and broader H&S legislationHands-on experience with risk assessments and incident investigationsExperience conducting audits and driving compliance frameworksConfident communicator with the ability to influence at all levelsSelf-sufficient, organised and comfortable working in a standalone capacityExperience within gases, chemical or COMAH environments (advantageous)IOSH membership or working towards (desirable)This is a fantastic opportunity we look forward to your application.Strive Supply Chain Limited [& associated businesses] acts as an employment agency on behalf of external employers for the provision of permanent staff.
