Position: Transport Planner – Transport Management & related, Permanent – Northamptonshire (Monday to Friday, 1830hrs – 0630hrs). Salary £35,000 to £40,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan routes for drivers, maximizing cases per vehicle and managing the volume of cases per vehicle.
  • Work closely with the Transport Team to ensure that routing and planning complies with drivers' working hours and any customer requirements, ensuring drivers deliver service excellence.
  • Plan the order of deliveries according to agreed timescales, taking into account any customer requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of legal requirements such as the Working Time Directive so that routes can be planned to accommodate this.
  • Respond to urgent changes in customer requirements, adapting routes as required; the Transport Planner must be adaptable and find solutions to problems as they arise.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Fast paced, FMCG environment, ideally multi-temperature but not essential.
  • Experience of multi-drop routing.
  • Excellent communicator, target driven and highly motivated.
  • Working knowledge of WTD and use of Transport Management Systems such as Paragon.
