Our client is a leading FMCG Distributor and we are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced Transport professional as they look to recruit a Transport Planning Support operator at their site in Corby, Northamptonshire on a Monday to Friday basis, 0830hrs – 1830hrs.
The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for supporting the customer, drivers and colleagues throughout the business and have the knowledge to assist the planning team with bookings and building the transport plan as necessary.
Key Accountabilities as Transport Planning Support:- Maintenance and Management of the Transport Management System (TMS)
- Engage all external and internal customers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner ensuring that a good impression is maintained at all times.
- Answering and responding to all incoming calls in a prompt and polite manner.
- Booking in all orders with delivery points
- Ability to enter loads on Warehouse Planner
- Ensure effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources
- Ensuring customer requirements are administered in a timely, controlled and recorded manner
- Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Promote effective and efficient standards of work, in order to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health & Safety legislation
- Managing Driver hours as per WTD rules
- Cross functional interaction (Warehouse / Drivers or Contractors / Customers)
- Enter accurate data on to all internal systems
- Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of the company’s H & S Policy
- Previous administration experience.
- Good numeric skills – including accuracy.
- Previous planning experience
