Strive Supply Chain are a leading management recruitment consultancy, specialising in Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Logistics, Transport & Warehouse Operations and Sales.

Our client is a major FMCG distributor in the UK. We are delighted to assist them in their search for a Business Development Manager covering Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Reporting into the Sales Director, this role is both field and home based with a dual remit of Key Account Development and developing new business through establishing key contacts and target customers in a fluid and competitive market. With 185 accounts to manage, this role is split 50:50 between existing business and developing new.

Key Accountabilities as Business Development Manager:

  • Your role is all about delivering the very best customer service while meeting sales and profit targets for your own geographic region.
  • Working closely with existing customers to maximise growth, by introducing new products and services to their portfolio.
  • Develop relationships with target customers and businesses with a view to developing new business and turning them into key accounts.
  • Build stronger relationships with lapsed or lost customers.
  • Responsible for developing sales opportunities with existing accounts (key account retention).

Ideal Person for Business Development Manager:

  • Proven Experience of growing new business and nurturing existing customers.
  • Proven ability to regularly exceed sales targets in your career to date.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, with lots of drive, energy and ambition.
  • Superb communication skills at all levels with a consultative approach to sales that adds value.
