Strive Staffing Solutions are currently working with a fantastic client in the St Albans area who are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. If you're an experienced Class 1 driver looking for a role that could lead to a permanent position, this could be the opportunity for you!
The Role
- Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring deliveries are completed on time while maintaining excellent standards of safety and customer service.
- Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally.
- Loading, securing and unloading goods.
- Completing pre-journey vehicle checks.
- Planning routes and managing delivery schedules.
- Completing delivery paperwork and tachograph records.
- Liaising professionally with customers and the transport team.
- Following all relevant driving, safety and working-time regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- No more than 6 penalty points.
- Previous commercial driving experience.
- Experience with flatbed or general recycling haulage is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of road safety and load security.
- Strong time-management and organisational skills.
- Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.
- Long-distance or multi-drop experience is advantageous.
