About the Role: As the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer, you will be the sole onsite representative responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive HS&E strategy. Working autonomously, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment & Incident Management:
- Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards.
- Document incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in creating SOPs with a strong focus on HS&E.
- HSE Training & Awareness:
- Develop and deliver safety training for employees and contractors.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate HS&E into daily operations.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response:
- Develop, implement, and test emergency response plans.
- Coordinate with emergency services and conduct drills.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor HS&E performance metrics and provide reports to management.
- Recommend and implement program improvements.
Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Certification in HS&E practices (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).
- Minimum of 3 years of HS&E experience, preferably in manufacturing environments involving flammable and COSHH materials.
- Strong knowledge of HS&E regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and emergency management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
