The Role
Our client is a reputable leading manufacturer and supplier with multiple locations around the country, in search of a Red Seal Millwright for the Surrey location for their 24/7 operating facility. Offering multiple opportunities for growth and a strong pension plan, our client requires the maintenance team to work on a rotation schedule, shifting between daytime and night-time shifts.
The right candidate must hold a Red Seal Millwright certification and have experience in production machinery, preventative maintenance, and machine repair. Preference is given to those with fabrication and strong welding experience. Previous union experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Predictive and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, compressors, conveyor belt systems, hydraulic components, electro-mechanical equipment, grinders and crushers, and automated machinery.
- Maintain compliance with safety, food safety, and environmental requirements.
- Perform equipment installations and fabrication of parts.
- Coordinate with colleagues and leadership to support productivity and meet performance goals.
- Follow the safety company and union protocols.
- Operate powered equipment and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements:
- Red Seal Millwright certification required.
- Previous union experience would be an asset.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
- Understanding of computing systems to complete any required maintenance reports.
- Mechanically inclined and strong in equipment diagnosis.
- Strong understanding and interpretation of blueprints and manuals.
- Ability to work well in teams as well as independently.
- A high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
- Proven success working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- A strong commitment to health and safety standards and protocols.
