We are supporting a leading digital transformation programme within the luxury hospitality sector, seeking an experienced OPERA Techno-Functional Expert to play a key role in a large-scale hospitality data and integration initiative. This role will sit between Hotel Operations, Data Engineering, and Solution Architecture teams, helping translate complex operational workflows within Oracle OPERA PMS into accurate, scalable data and API integration solutions. The successful consultant will bring deep hands-on expertise across Oracle OPERA PMS and OHIP APIs, alongside strong data mapping and business analysis capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • OPERA Scenario & Data Behaviour Mapping
    • Analyse and deconstruct complex hotel operational processes executed within OPERA PMS, including: Multi-room reservations, Routing and folio settlements, Share-withs and linked reservations, Night audit processes, Reservation life cycle management.
    • Translate operational workflows and UI behaviour into underlying OPERA data structures and life cycle states.
    • Identify how operational events impact historical and transactional data records.
  • OHIP API & Integration Expertise
    • Act as the SME for Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP) REST and Streaming APIs.
    • Identify and document the appropriate OHIP endpoints, payloads, and event streams required for business and data use cases.
    • Design logic for: API polling, Webhook/event-driven integrations, Streaming data handling, API rate limit management.
    • Use tools such as Postman to explore, validate, and document OHIP API behaviour.
  • Data Mapping & Platform Integration
    • Produce detailed source-to-target mapping documentation between OPERA/OHIP and enterprise data platforms.
    • Support the design of accurate data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
    • Ensure data integrity across reservations, profiles, cancellations, no-shows, and historical amendments.
    • Work closely with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure hospitality business logic is correctly reflected within the data platform.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with operational stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and delivery leadership.
    • Validate data outputs against OPERA UI behaviour and operational processes.
    • Support downstream use cases including customer intelligence, personalised marketing, reporting, and pricing optimisation.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years' hands-on experience with Oracle OPERA PMS (v5.x and/or OPERA Cloud).
  • Strong functional understanding of: Reservations, Front Desk, Cashiering, Profiles, Rate Management, Night Audit.
  • Proven experience working with Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP).
  • Strong understanding of: REST APIs, JSON payloads, API integrations, Streaming/Webhook architectures.
  • Hands-on experience using Postman or similar API testing tools.
  • Strong data analysis and mapping capability.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve complex data discrepancies.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to work across both business and technical teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building hospitality Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) or Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDWs).
  • Exposure to modern cloud data technologies such as Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience working on large-scale hospitality transformation or integration programmes.
