A leading financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Database Architect to join a major enterprise payments transformation programme. INSIDE IR35 HYBRID WORKING - LONDON This is not a traditional DBA role. We're looking for someone who can design enterprise-scale PostgreSQL database solutions from first principles, creating logical and physical data models, scalable schemas and high-performance OLTP databases for mission-critical payment systems. Responsibilities Design enterprise PostgreSQL database architecture and schemas. Create logical and physical data models and ERDs. Design scalable, high-volume OLTP databases. Lead database modernisation from Legacy platforms. Define partitioning, indexing and performance optimisation strategies. Collaborate with Architects, Engineers and Business stakeholders to deliver enterprise data solutions. Essential Skills Extensive PostgreSQL database architecture and design experience. Strong logical and physical data modelling expertise. Enterprise OLTP database design experience. AWS Aurora PostgreSQL or similar cloud-native PostgreSQL platforms. Database performance tuning, indexing, partitioning and query optimisation. Experience with database migration and modernisation programmes.
