Location: London – hybrid, 3 days onsite per week

Duration: Initially until the end of December 2026, with a view to extending further from Jan

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Developer / Data Engineer to join a Snowflake implementation programme at an established asset management firm.

This is a highly hands‑on development role, suited to someone with deep Snowflake and SQL expertise who is also confident engaging directly with clients and providing technical guidance to a small development team. The emphasis is on building and delivering solutions, alongside taking ownership of technical discussions and resolving implementation challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and optimise Snowflake data pipelines, SQL transformations and data models.
  • Build reliable ingestion processes to bring data into Snowflake from source systems, including platforms such as thinkFolio, where native API connectivity may not be available.
  • Assess and implement appropriate integration approaches, including file-based feeds, extracts and scheduled data loads.
  • Enable data consumption through Sigma or similar BI and data visualisation tools, ensuring datasets are structured and accessible for reporting and analysis.
  • Design and implement Snowflake roles, permissions and access controls, aligned with business requirements and data security needs.
  • Work directly with client stakeholders to understand requirements, explain technical options and resolve delivery issues.
  • Provide practical technical guidance and code reviews for a small development team while remaining actively involved in development.
  • Troubleshoot data quality, integration and performance issues, maintaining clear technical documentation.
  • Deep, hands‑on expertise in Snowflake and advanced SQL, including development, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
  • Strong experience delivering data engineering and ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Experience integrating data from systems with limited or no native API connectivity.
  • Understanding of how Snowflake data is exposed to and consumed by Sigma or comparable reporting and visualisation platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake permissioning models and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Confident client communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting or guiding other developers while retaining substantial hands‑on delivery responsibility.
  • Asset or investment management experience.
  • Exposure to thinkFolio or similar investment management platforms.
  • Direct experience with Sigma.
  • Experience delivering a Snowflake implementation within a small, client‑facing project team.

This opportunity would suit a senior developer or data engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, working closely with stakeholders and taking ownership of hands‑on technical delivery.
