Responsibilities:
- Oversee, manage and optimise VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions.
- Implement, support and manage network and security technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network and virtualisation issues.
- Interact with vendors for support escalations.
- Continuously monitor network and infrastructure performance.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all configurations and procedures.
Skills and experience for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:
- Proficiency in managing and optimising VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions.
- Experience with managing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Extensive knowledge in configuring and managing firewalls, routers and switches.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of networking, including TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, VLANs, dynamic routing protocols, port aggregation, load balancing, VPNs and wireless technologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architectures.
- Knowledge of Cisco ACL, Firepower, ISE, Unified Computing Systems (UCS).
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Knowledge of Veeam and Zerto data resiliency platforms.
- Understanding of ITIL practices.
Desirable Certifications:
- VMWare VCP
- Cisco Unified Computing System (DCCUCS)
- Microsoft Certifications such as: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate.
